The Green Tiger is leading a green revolution in society, Rally Estonia is one of them
Almost two years of Rohetiiger's activities have shown that society needs a leader in green topics and a connector of different sectors. Rohetiiger has taken on the role of driving green changes, bringing together over 60 companies and organizations whose common goal is to contribute to Estonia's green leap – Rally Estonia is one of the founding members of Rohetiiger.
The global economy uses nearly 95 billion tons of natural resources annually. Only 9-10% of all these resources are recycled. Two-thirds of the materials circulating in the economy end up in the environment in one way or another.
It is clear that the economic model that has brought us success so far is no longer sustainable in this way. Nature is an integrated system, and in a closed system, you cannot endlessly extract resources without giving something back. We must move towards an economy in balance with nature and find a new model that promotes development, but as a result, the natural environment not only does not deteriorate but actually improves.
Change begins with entrepreneurs
We believe that those who are the first to lead change can participate in creating and shaping the new environment. That is why Rohetiiger members, including Rally Estonia, have each taken the initiative in their own field and started to reduce their environmental impact. It is understood that sustainable action will soon no longer be an advantage, but a very clear prerequisite for competition.
Rohetiiger's role is to support its members on their green journey. To date, in cooperation with entrepreneurs and scientists, 13 economic sectors have been analyzed, from transport to agriculture, and sustainability principles have been developed for companies and organizations to follow.
This winter, right during the energy crisis, Rohetiiger's energy roadmap was completed, offering realistic solutions to ensure the necessary security of supply, renewable energy production capacity, and compliance with climate goals. We will continue to create roadmaps for other sectors as well, with the next roadmap focusing on construction.
